Teaching Philosophy
Music has been one of the greatest joys of Hannah Abercrombie’s life since she started piano lessons at age 6, and she loves getting to share this joy with musicians of all ages in her studio. She aims to create an environment of success and fun, as well as one of expectations. Her goal is to train aspiring artists of all ages wholeheartedly and joyfully through a balanced approach of technique, music theory, sightreading, and masterful repertoire of varied genres.
Hannah has found that this well-rounded approach creates people who feel capable of independently pursuing music for the rest of their lives. Her superior training and 13 years of teaching experience mean you and/or your child will receive the best that piano study has to offer. In piano lessons, Hannah emphasizes:
-setting and achieving goals
-appreciating the beauty of music
-slowing down, focusing and listening
-time management
-thinking on a higher, more creative level
-efficient practice
